I’ve never heard about it being toxic except in a highly concentrated (essential oil) form

I use it loose too. Just pop some in a tea strainer. Obvi start with just a little bit in the off chance your body reacts negatively

It won’t make you trip out or even hallucinate. People usually make teas before bed to promote vivid or lucid dreams. It’s not like shrooms or lsd or smthn
